CAN Directs Christians To Adhere To NCDC Covid-19 Regulations As Cross over Services Nears

The Christian leadership in Nigeria has directed worship centres to respect authorities’ directives as regards covid 19 protocols in the various crossover services that will be holding on New years eve.

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev Samson Ayokunle, gave the directive in a statement on Tuesday, appealing for adherence guidelines issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the federal and the state governments.

So far, several churches across the nation have fixed varying times for their respective crossover services with the RCCG and day star announcing they will be opting for virtual cross over services.

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries led by Dr Daniel Olukoya has said the church’s cross-over service would hold physically between 9pm and 11pm while it would continue virtually into the New Year.

The Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners’ Chapel led by Bishop David Oyedepo also said the church’s cross-over service would hold between 6pm and 8pm.

Covenant Christian Centre on the other hand, said the crossover service of the church would hold physically between 7pm and 9pm would continue virtually between 11pm to 1am.

This comes even as some states like; Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Cross River, amongst others have warned churches against holding cross-over services this Thursday, insisting that the 12am to 4am curfew imposed by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 is still in place.
