At the just concluded Mammoth Youth Gathering and Lecture in that held in King David Hotel Awka recently organised by the Awka South chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria , NYCN , a bussines mogul and philanthropist, Chief Azubike EKWEOZOR , Ide Umuawulu has been installed as the Pioneer pillar of National Youth Council of Nigeria, in Awka.
The event which was òrganised to raise wider political education and youth inclusiveness in governance and policy making , with a theme, electioneering in Anambra state, making a case for youth inclusiveness , also has in attendance The tradional Ruler of Awka Kingdom HRH, Igwe Gibson Nwosu represented by the traditional prime minister of Awka , Otutu Awka, key Government officials including state Director for Nigeria Drug law enforcement Agency.
Chief EKWEOZOR , in his separate remarks urged for a one minute silence for late Mr. China onwuzulike whom he described as a pan Obizi man , who believed in the Obizi dream and in political progress of Awka South and North.
Speaking further , Chief Ekweozor said he is a youth that believes in the youth and that was why he flew from Lagos enroute Enugu to honour the invitation, which according to him is one his numerous ways he exemplifies his commitment to the youth course urging the executives of National Youth Council if Nigeria, NYCN to exonerate themselves from political party activities especially now Anambra 2021 gubernatorial election is gathering momentum.
While promising he has instructed his Manager at his hotel at Nibo to give greater preference to the youth from Awka North and South in terms employment, He however called on all youths in the states to to avoid such attitudes capable of destroying one’s future, dignity and reputation such as drug abuse and rape and prayed that motives and intentions behind the mammoth youth gathering be actualized.
He however announce a donation of five hundred thousand Naira to support their activities .
Awka south coordinator , Amb. Emmanuel Oye Awka, Hon Chidiogo Okafor, the PRO and the Chairman planning Committee and Other keynote speakers who spoke at the event also thanked Chief Ekweozor for his philanthropy , magnanimity and youth inclusive policies and agenda which according them have steered many youths and struggling families out of unemployment and penury.
Other high points òf the occasion were, inauguration and swearing in of different ward cordinators, representatives and Lectures targeted at youth unemployment , drug abuse , rape.
