Christians have been called upon to live a selfless Christ-like life in serving humanity. This was contained in a homily delivered by the Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Dioceses, Rt. Rev Ndubuisi Obi, during the centenary birthday celebration of Sir Justus Nkachukwudebelu Ezeife, Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Igbo-Ukwu.
The Bishop challenged Christians all over the world to “live practical Christian life that can show God’s hand in our lives”
Speaking during the event, the celebrant, Pa Sir Ezeife, who is the oldest member of the Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha, and the first University graduate in Igbo-Ukwu, thanked God for granting him long life and good health. He pledged to continue living his life in service to humanity.
The centenarian stated that he started his secondary education at DMGS in 1946 and graduated with one of the best results through hard work and determination.
In his speech, the chairman of the occasion, Prof. Uchenna Nwosu, described Sir Ezeife as a man of principle and humility who through hard work had made his community and the entire nation proud.
The event had in attendance Igwe Dr. Robert Eze, the traditional ruler of Ukpo; Igwe Alex Onyido, the traditional ruler of Ogidi; member of DMGS Old Boys’ Association, Idu Royal Cabinet, friends and well-wishers.
