The Management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University under the leadership of Prof. G.C Nwakaoby has concluded plans to add Insurance as an academic discipline obtainable in the institution.
This was achieved after a meeting between the Management of the University, and a team from NAICOM Insurance recently.
According to the Management of NAICOM Insurance, the organization is ready to fund the establishment of the Department to its full scale with the sum of Thirty Five Million Naira, depending on the area the University Management deems exigent which includes infrastructure, books, equipments, etc.
In his remarks, the highly elated Vice Chancellor Prof. Greg. C. Nwakaoby thanked the stakeholders in the Faculty of Management Sciences who facilitated the move while assuring that the University Management will ensure adequate, efficient and effective use of the fund (when received).
He then used the medium to express the University’s readiness in welcoming individuals, corporate institutions and organizations who may desire to invest or partner with the University as that, are part of what his administration is set achieve.
It is expected that the official MoU between NAICOM Insurance and the University Management will be signed soon for the commencement of the programme.
