In line with the annual comomeration of the World Civil Defence Day on every 1st of March, the Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps Delta State Command joins the rest of the world to celebrate the day which is a yearly event mapped out by the INTERNATIONAL CIVIL DEFENCE ORGANISATION (ICDO ) With the theme , STRONG CIVIL PROTECTION TO PRESERVE NATIONAL ECONOMY 2021.
In a statement released by Sc Eke Onyekachi L.
CDPRO NSCDC Delta, the state Commandant Dr. Chike Ikpeamonwu urged all Deltans and Nigerians in general to use this year’s Civil Defence Day to have a rethink, more especially at this trying times of the nation’s insecurity.
According to him , as this year’s theme is Strong Civil Protection to Preserve National Economy, the national economy can only be preserved and sustained through the protection of lives and property of the citizens.
He therefore enjoined everyone to play their part in ensuring the security of Civil populace and the critical national assets and infrastructure.
He also added that security is everybody’s business.
Commandant Chike also maintained that there will be Rally/mini show of Force, Sensitisation, Lectures/workshop and the Commandant’s Address to mark event.
He said that the Civil Defence is still committed to Zero tolerance to crimes and criminality in line with their Mandate.
