A commercial motorcyclist was crushed to death in a ghastly motor accident at Orie Akwu-Ukwu, along Owerri-Onitsha expressway, Anambra state.
The accident which occurred around 10 am, involved a Toyota Sienna with registration number YAB549WD and the motorcycle without registration number.
Confirming the incident, Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Pascal Anigbo, blamed the accident on excessive speeding, disclosing that one out of the two male adults involved in the crash, lost his life.
On getting to the crash scene, the FRSC rescue team from Oraifite Unit Command reported that operatives of the Nigeria Police Force were already on ground.
Reacting to the incident, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, CC Andrew Kumapayi, strongly warned drivers against driving above stipulated speed limits.
He admonished drivers to drive with common sense speed limit, especially within built-up areas, and also condole with the family of the dead.
