There is currently fear among traders at the Ugwuagba Obosi Electrical Market in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, following a collapsing security tower which has been abandoned over the years.

Kpakpando findings showed that several petitions to the Anambra State Urban Development Board by the concerned traders have not yielded any results as the structure has continued to pose a danger to the traders.

The traders are worried that if the three-storey tower collapses, it might destroy lives and properties in the market and there is a need for the authorities concerned to heed the call for its demolition.

Speaking to South-East Newsmen at the market premises on Monday, one of the traders at the market, Chekwube Nwankwo, expressed the fears that he and other traders near the structure would be the worst hit if it suddenly collapses.

Nwankwo said he had pleaded with three successive administrations to come to their rescue by demolishing the collapsing tower, but all to no avail, adding that his petition to ASUDEB has pitched him against the market leadership.
