
The seven local government areas that make Anambra Central Senatorial District have been earmarked to benefit from the free medical and surgical outreach of the Dozie Nwankwo Foundation.
The state coordinator of the foundation, Mr. Law Ugwunna disclosed this while flagging off the second phase of the fifteenth edition of the free medical and surgical outreach project at Enugw-Ukwu Civic Center.
Mr. Ugwunna, who said that the medical and surgical outreach, initiated by the member representing Dunkofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Honourable Dozie Nwankwo under his foundation, which, over the years covered the constituency has now been extended to Awka North and South, and Idemili North and South Local Government Areas.
According to him, the gesture was borne out of the desire of Honourable Nwankwo to give back to his people dividends of governance by ensuring that they enjoy good health services.
On her part, the Head of the medical team, Dr. Mrs. Jema Henry-Ibeh, explained that the present phase of the Medicare, which will last for twenty-one days, will provide only eye, dental care and screening services, adding that they will undertake over one hundred Cataract Surgery in the process.
She noted that this phase will be manned by more than fifty medical personnel volunteers including consultants, Ophthalmic Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, and Laboratory Scientists, assuring a hitch free exercise.
The beneficiaries, who thanked Honourable Nwankwo for his generosity and benevolence, prayed God to replenish his source.
