Members of COVID-19 Taskforce in Rumuigbo, River State on Wednesday, intercepted a trailer loaded with building materials smuggling people into the
State.
The interception was aided by the collective effort of NYCN, Ijaw Youths and residents of the area.
Speaking at the scene, Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Prince Solomon Eke, called on residents of Obio/Akpor Local Government to remain vigilant and share information should they notice any strange movement in their neighborhood.
Further interrogation by members of the taskforce revealed that the violators claimed to have parted with 6,000 naira to gain entry.
According to the report, they also had in their possession a fake lockdown pass to aide their entry into the Local government, but a close look at the document showed that the Governor’s signature was scanned.
