COVID-19 Update in Nigeria on the 20th of July 2020, shows that 562 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus and 12 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, therefore, observed that the spread of novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) in the country has continued to record significant increase as the latest statistics revealed that Nigeria now has 37,225 confirmed cases.
NCDC said a total daily test of 2,027 samples across the country were carried out.
To date, of the 37,225 cases confirmed, 15,333 cases have been discharged and 801 deaths have also been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
A total of 214,228 tests have been carried out as of July 20th, 2020 compared to 212,201 tests a day earlier.
According to the Centre, the breakdown of the 562 new cases were reported from 21 states and is as follows-:
FCT (102), Lagos (100), Plateau (52), Kwara (50), Abia (47), Kaduna (35), Benue (34), Oyo (26), Ebonyi (24), Kano (16), Niger (15), Anambra (14), Gombe (12), Edo (11), Rivers (6), Nasarawa (5), Delta (5), Borno (3), Enugu (2), Bauchi (2), and Kebbi (1).
