The Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi, has called for a national policy requiring the recruitment of first-class graduates into intelligence agencies to strengthen national security.
Speaking at the University of Ilorin, Ajayi, represented by DSS Deputy Director Patrick Ikenweiwe, emphasized the need for top intellectual minds in security roles. He cited Israel’s model, advocating for a structured selection process to draft exceptional graduates into national service.
Ajayi urged academia to identify top-performing students for recruitment, stressing the importance of shifting public perception of security agencies as partners in peacekeeping.
