Rev. Fr. Edwin Obiorah Priest In Residence, Annunciation Catholic Church Awka has cautioned all to don their facemasks properly in observance of the prescribed protocols, emphasizing that COVID-19 was real and spreading because of a `laissez-faire attitude’ of people.
Fr. Obiorah explained that some of the resultant deaths were most preventable but for carelessness being exhibited by individuals that contracted the virus who failed to do the needful.
He advised those coming for Mass that wish to receive the Sacred Specie in their palms to wash them properly even as he urged them to receive it religiously to avoid desecrating it.
Speaking at his parish on 28th of February on the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ, Fr. Obiorah said that it allowed Jesus to consult His Heavenly father and ascertain His father’s plan for His suffering, death and resurrection.
The Transfiguration also aimed at making the apostles aware of Jesus’ divine glory so that they might be strengthened during their trying times.
According to him, Transfiguration gives Christians a glimpse of the heavenly glory awaiting those who do God’s will while giving us an invitation as well as a challenge to put our faith in the loving promises of a merciful God who sent His Son to die for our sins.
The cleric emphasised that our transformed lives would enable us to radiate the glory and grace of the Lord around us by our Spirit-filled lives.
He, then, urged all to metamorphose from their sleepy spiritual life into dynamic Christian life especially during this Lenten season by radiating Christ’s love and mercy around all
