Anambra State right from the onset has been a centre of academic excellence churning out world-class products from our educational system. We had prestigious colleges with highly qualified teaching staff who were moulding our students both in character and learning. Sadly, all that has changed now. Not only are we experiencing a rapid decline in the quality of education, but the cost of education is also on an astronomical increase.
Over the years, successive governments did not build more schools as our population increased instead the already existing ones were allowed to deteriorate at an alarming rate. Parents were forced to turn to the many private schools for the education of their children at huge costs but mostly low standards. Those who cannot afford these expensive private schools are left with no choice but to leave their children in these dilapidated public schools.
This ugly situation would be put to an end if Ndi Anambra entrusts this state to the care of a man of excellence, Dr Chidozie Nwankwo (Overdose), the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State. Dr Chidozie Nwankwo who is the CEO of Wichtech Group is a man on a mission to radically transform Anambra State into a centre of excellence.
Dr Chido has promised to carry out a surgical operation on our educational system by building 3 brand new model public schools (primary and secondary) in each of the 21 local government areas in Anambra State complete with modern teaching aids, well-equipped science and computer laboratories, well-stocked libraries, standard sporting facilities etc. Hundreds of existing public schools in various states of disrepair will be renovated and upgraded to meet minimum UNESCO standards.
Dr Chidozie Nwankwo will recruit qualified teachers and other support staff to be deployed to these additional schools and other existing public schools that are currently understaffed. These new public schools as well as the revamped old ones will drastically improve the quality of education in Anambra State and at the same time increasing access to free basic education to Anambra children whose parents cannot afford the high cost of private schools.
Ndi Anambra, this is a basic minimum of what Dr Chidozie Nwankwo will do in the public primary and secondary schools of our education sector once elected as Governor. This is why every progress loving Anambrarian would have to queue patiently on Saturday, November 6, 2021, to vote for Dr Chidozie Nwankwo of the AAC (African Action Congress) as the next Governor of Anambra State.
