The Senate Committee on Science and Technology under the leadership of Senator Uche LILIAN Ekwunife has organized a public hearing on a BILL FOR AN ACT TO ESTABLISH NATIONAL INNOVATION AGENCY .
The hearing held on Tuesday October 4th, 2022 at National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The presentation according Senator Ekwunife seeks to establish an advanced technology based agency that will foster cutting-edge technological innovations and scientific breakthroughs as obtainable in advanced countries of the world.
One aspect of the proposal was to site the project at a central business district like Nkpor in Anambra State thereby creating more opportunities for rapid technological advancement of the zone in particular and Nigeria at large.
Distinguished personalities from the national assembly, federal cabinet and relevant agencies present during the proceedings were the President of the Senate, Dist. Sen. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and host of others.
