Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, calling it an assault on democracy.
In a Facebook post, Atiku described the move as political manipulation, claiming Tinubu cannot evade responsibility for the chaos in the state.
Atiku argued that if federal infrastructure in Rivers has been compromised, the president must take full responsibility.
He criticized Tinubu for failing to prevent the political turmoil, accusing him of reckless negligence and undermining years of peace in the Niger Delta. Atiku called for the strongest condemnation of the emergency rule.
