Senate President Ahmed Lawan has called on the EndSARS protesters to stop the protests across the country and allow government some time to enforce the demands.

He made this known to newsmen after the meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari and speaker of the house of representatives , Femi Gbajabiamila at the State House on Sunday.

He said that it is important to note that issues for the protests have been ongoing have been heard and accepted. Hence, the protests should stop as government needs to have sufficient time , a suitable environment to implement the demands of the protesters.

He also said that given the present economic state of the country and the world at large, it is not the appropriate time to cripple the economy by not allowing people go about their businesses.

Lawan appealed to the protesting youths to leave the roads as the protests have yielded the desired result.

It wi be recalled that Nigerian youths took to the streets to protest against the Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS)
and Police Brutality. The protests, which initially started as an Online Protest flowed into the streets in different parts of the country.

Following the protest, The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, last week Sunday, disbanded SARS.
