Fatal Motor Accident At Oye Agu: CP Itam Cautions Drivers/Transporters To Always Do Necessary Checks Before Playing Road Especially These Ember Months
Directs arrest and interrogation of the driver
The Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has cautioned drivers/transporters to always do the necessary checks before plying the road, especially during these Ember Months.
The CP made the call while reacting to the fatal motor accident that occurred on Wednesday,11/9/2024 by 7:15 am along Onitsha- Enugu Old road by Oye agu junction Abagana, that resulted in the death of a 5year old girl and four other persons seriously injured.
A release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO SP Tochukwu Ikenga, informed that preliminary information revealed that the accident occurred due to break failure of the Toyota Sienna vehicle carrying passengers, en route to Lagos, rammed into traders by the roadside at Oye Agu junction.
He said that furthermore, the CP, while condoling the family of the deceased, directed arrest and interrogation of the driver.
To this end, he disclosed, the Vehicle has been recovered at the Station, while investigation is ongoing.
