The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commanders of Anambra and Delta States, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno and Corps Commander Joyce Alexander, respectively, led a joint operational oversight visit to the Onitsha and Asaba Bridge Heads.

The inspection aimed to assess traffic management efforts at this critical corridor, a major gateway between the Southeastern and Southwestern Regions of Nigeria.

During the visit, the Commanders evaluated traffic control measures, personnel deployment, and adherence to standard procedures.

Key issues noted included heavy congestion, unauthorized parking, and non-compliance by motorists. They engaged officers on duty, stressing professionalism, courtesy, and strict enforcement of safety protocols.

“The goal is to ensure seamless traffic flow, minimize crashes, and prioritize road user safety,” Asekhauno stated. Alexander added, “Collaboration and vigilance are vital to tackling these challenges.”

Immediate directives were issued to enhance traffic coordination, improve stakeholder engagement, and optimize enforcement strategies.

The Commanders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining safe, efficient transportation networks in the region during the Yuletide.
