In a related development, Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu has apologised for incorrectly stating that only ten boys had been kidnapped at the government science school in Kankara, Katsina state.
In a tweet from his verified Twitter handle on Friday, Shehu stated that the communication of numbers was provided by persons that ideally should have know better.
Accepting that his figures contradicted other reports, he opined that the communication was in no way done to downplay the seriousness of the situation and pleaded with Nigerians to accept his sincere apologies.
