A power outage has affected states within the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) franchise area due to a fault on the 330kV double-circuit transmission lines from Ugwuji to Makurdi to Jos. The affected states include Gombe, Bauchi, Benue, and Plateau.

In a statement on Friday, Dr. Friday Elijah, Head of Corporate Communications, JEDC, confirmed that the lines tripped around 12:21 PM, causing a loss of power on all 33KV feeders. He stated that engineers from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) are working to resolve the issue.

Elijah apologized for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience. He added that they hope to restore normal power supply once the fault is rectified.
