The Anambra State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging Governor Willie Obiano to direct the Commissioner for Basic Education to construct perimeter security fencing at Community Secondary School, Achilles in Awka North council Area of the state. The resolution was sequel to a motion sponsored to that effect by the member representing Awka North Constituency, Honourable John Nwokoye during plenary.
Reports has it that while explaining the motion, Honourable Nwokoye revealed that non construction of a perimeter fencing at the school renders the school vulnerable to criminal attacks thereby rendering the academic atmosphere unconducive for proper learning.
The Lawmaker maintained that construction of the perimeter fence will further deter criminal attacks and vandalization of laboratory equipments.
On his part, the Speaker of the House, Right Honourable Uche Okafor who noted that Governor Willie Obiano places high premium on the welfare of the people expressed confidence that His Excellency Willie Obiano will salvage the situation.
