Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has been praised for the far-reaching measures he took to douse the current tension caused by the EndSARS Protests across Nigeria.
According to some political analysts, while other state governors are imposing curfew in their states to check the excesses of hoodlums causing mayhem as a result of the EndSARS Protests, the Cross River State Governor has taken decisive decision in this trying time.
Some of measures taken by the governor include indefinite suspension of payment of tuition fees by indigenes of the state in the state-owned University of Technology (CRUTECH),
He has also extended the service year for indigenes of the state who have completed their one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) but are still without jobs.
Furthermore, the Cross River State Governor has constituted a seven-man judicial panel of inquiry to look into complaints of victims of police brutality with a charge on the panel to do a thorough job.
According to report, he gave directive to each of the 18 local governments in the state to employ 1000 workers, while the state government will employ 2000 into its civil service.
It is believed that the measures would go a long way in alleviating the hardships and sufferings of the people.
