Governor Fubara of Rivers State Directs Immediate Promotion of Secondary School Teachers

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has directed the immediate promotion of teachers in all senior secondary schools. This announcement was made during the inauguration of new members for the Senior Secondary Schools and Universal Basic Education Boards in Port Harcourt.

The promotion exercise, previously on hold, will now be overseen by a substantive board led by Dr. Sam Umejuru. Governor Fubara emphasized his commitment to improving education, healthcare, and agriculture in the state.

The Governor also urged David Briggs, the new Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board, to enhance the standards set by his predecessors.
Both chairmen assured the Governor of their dedication to their new roles.
