Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra Srate has directed the Commissioner of Police, Mr Tony Olofu, to arrest the killer of the former traditional ruler of Mkpunando community in Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area.
Governor Obiano also expressed shock over the news of the death of former Igwe Alexander Edozieuno.
The Commissioner for Information and Public enlightenment, Mr C. Don Adinuba, who disclosed this in a release on Saturday, revealed that the
Governor asked the Police Commissioner to explore all available resources to fish out those behind the murder.
The governor said it is disheartening that Chief Edozieuno should die this way when violent crime has been reduced to its lowest level in the State since its creation in August, 1991, making Anambra Nigeria’s safest state despite recent organized attacks.
Hee regretted that there are still elements who have little regard for human life, let alone the dignity of the human person, in spite of the sustained efforts of the current administration to make society more caring.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the Edozieuno family, the Mkpunando community, friends, relatives and associates of the deceased.
Alexander Edozieuno was murdered on Friday with his driver, simply identified as Chukwuemeka, while driving on Ezu Bridge, Otuocha, Anambra East local government area of the state.
