
To boost the efforts Security Agencies to rid the State of any form of crime, Governor Willie Obiano’s administration has donated 13 operational vehicles to the Rapid Response Team of the Nigeria Police in Anambra.

Gov.Willie disclosed that the vehicles will enable officers arrive at crime scenes in real time adding that he expects the officers to properly utilize them and immediately begin a robust patrol within the State especially in Nkpor, Upper Iweka, Okpoko, Ogidi, Inland Town, and other flash points as well as flush out people hiding in uncompleted buildings.

He also presented cash rewards to some officers of the police as a morale-boosting action following their gallantry during the #EndSARS protests.

Next of kin to officers killed during the protests such as CSP Joseph Akpan, ASP Agu Micahel, INSP John Oche, PC Udegbulam Celestine were given a token of 2 million naira each to their respective next of Kin.
About 20 other injured officers received 250, 000 Naira each in addition to the hospital bills which according him, will be taken care of by the state government.
For the gallantry of Onitsha Area Command and few other police formations, he gave them a cash reward of one million naira.
He further stated that the #EndSARS protest has brought a lot of lessons for everyone and commended also the Anambra Youths for mobilizing themselves to defend their communities against hoodlums that attempted to turn the peaceful Anambra into a chaotic State.
He equally reiterateed the mapped out N200m to compensate victims of police brutality and extrajudicial killings as will be recommended by the Judicial Panel of Inquiry presently sitting in Awka.
