The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has called on Christians all over Nigeria to let the light of their kindness shine on their neighbours this Christmas and in the New Year.
In a special Christmas Message signed by James Eze, his Chief Press Secretary, Governor Obiano observed that mankind has been so heavily traumatized in 2020 adding that only a genuine act of kindness can heal the deep wounds inflicted on every one by COVID-19 and other afflictions of the year.
According to him throughout history, the walls that separate humanity from one another have always fallen down in times of common adversity and grief and Simple acts of kindness do not only heal broken hearts but they also give many people a hope to hold on to. He noted also that When we are kind to our neighbours, we multiply our chances of surviving the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Obiano therefore called on Ndi Anambra to intensify their communal efforts against the pandemic during the Yuletide season as such efforts have proven to be a master stroke against the scourge, pointing out that at the peak of the COVID-19 onslaught earlier in the year, philanthropists and humanists in various communities in the state had risen to push back at the threat.
