Governor Willie Obiano has visited all the three offices formerly used by the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) formations in Ekwulobia, Neni and Awkuzu.

This is in fulfilment of his promise to the protesting youths, that he would look into their grievances which include releasing persons unlawfully detained by SARS officers.
During the visit, the Governor granted unconditional bail to three detainees illegally held by the defunct unit.
Speaking during the exercise, Governor Obiano said that the Commissioner of Police in the state has released everyone detained illegally.
He however, maintained that persons remanded by the order of the court, will remain there until their cases are determined.
The governor also revealed that he would, on Monday, next week, inaugurate a panel that will entertain public petitions, to be headed by a retired Chief Judge.
