GP World FA Qualifies For Super Eight Tournament

Chairman Aspire FC Adazi Ani, ceremonially kicked off the ball, signaling the start of the Super Eight Tournament on Monday.

The first game, covering the Anambra South zone began at 11am at Nero’s stadium, Nanka with the match between Mekon Football Club of Umunze and Ajali United. The two teams delivered an entertaining game which saw Mekon FC defeat Ajali United with 2 goals to 1.

Speaking to our correspondent Marvelous Ezenwa after the game, the coaches from both team showed sportsmanship by accepting the outcome of the game while also congratulating the sponsor of the maiden super eight tournament, Aspire FC of Adazi and also Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) for their work towards ensuring the success of the tournament.

The second match which was between Rangels FA and John Paul FC saw Rangels Beat John Paul 2 goals to 1. Rangels FA will face Ihiala United today for the super eight qualifier . Rangels Coach, Dimude Chukwuebuka, commended his players for winning and asked them to double the efforts for today’s game. He also thanked Aspire FC for working to revamp grass root football in Anambra.

GP World FA has become the first team to qualify for the Anambra maiden football Super Eight tournament.

According to our Sports Reporter, Marvelous Ezenwa, the club achieved this feat on the second day of the tournament in Anambra.

So far in the tournament, Uncle Ralph FC played 1:0 against Peace FC, Go World FA beat Mekon FC 3:2 with penalties after they played 2:2 drawing the regulation time. The win qualified them for the Super Eight Tournament.

Marvelous Ezenwa also reported that Olive Charles FA played 1:2 against Smith City FC while Konti FC played 2:1 against Hark Dove FC.

Golden held Big T Global FC down 5:3 on penalities after a goal less draw. Pope JohnPaul FC also defeted Dosad FC with 6 against 5 goals after a goal less draw.

So far, Uncle Ralph FC, Smith City FC, Konti FC, Golden Boys FC and Pope JohnPaul FC have qualified for the Semifinals which will enable them advance to the Super Eight.
