Ilkay Gundogan has rejoined Manchester City, calling it the “best club in the world” after his brief stint with Barcelona.
The 33-year-old, who previously won five Premier League titles and the Champions League with City, has returned to the Etihad following a mutual agreement to end his contract with Barcelona after just one season.
During his time at Barca, Gundogan scored five goals and provided 14 assists, but the team did not secure any trophies.
Reflecting on his return, Gundogan expressed his happiness and appreciation for his time at City, acknowledging the club’s greatness.
His return comes as a boost for City, especially after Julian Alvarez’s departure to Atletico Madrid.
