Honorable Akidi Emmanuel Ugochukwu has emerged the Authentic President-General of Awgbu Progress Union, in Orumba North Council Area of Anambra State.
He polled 269 votes out of 294 to emerge the winner, while his opponents, Mr Chukwudi Enendu scored 16 votes and Mr Ikechukwu Ezewi settled for 9 votes.

The Election which was conducted at the Awgbu Town Hall attracted dignitaries including Representatives of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Commissioner Collins Nwabunwanne, staff of Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, who supervised the election.
Also present were the ASATU President, Mr Titus Akpudo, and the President-General of Umuoji town in Idemili North Local government among others.

The election which was conducted using Option A4 introduced by former INEC Chairman, Prof Humphrey Nwosu, also saw Mr koval Chinwuko Ezeajughi emerge as the Vice President-General with total number of 254 votes, beating his opponent, Mr Felix Ukata, who scored 40 votes.
Also, Mr John Leo Okpara clinched the position of Secretary-General with 239 votes, beating his opponent, Mr Arinze Nwankwo, who scored 55 votes, while the post of the Assistant President-General went to Mr Ekene Nwaja because his opponent Mr Etete Chekwube stepped down for him.

Mr John Paul Chukwuemeka Ibekwe emerged the Financial Secretary, beating his opponents Mr Lawrence Egwuonwu and Ogechukwu Muolokwu, and Engineer Okwudili Nwankwo ukwu Okwuduli took the position of Treasurer, Unopposed.
Mr Chidozie Esiobu clinched the position of the Public Relations Officer, PRO, and Assistant Publicity Secretary went to Mr Chekwube Onwuchekwe.
Mr Sylvester Nwankwo took the position of Chief Provost as his opponent, Mr Sunday Nwosu, stepped down for him.

Assistant Chief Provost went to Chikelue Anumba as Mr Kenneth Ezeoka also stepped down for him.
Administering the Oath of Allegiance, Barr. Jude Ezeamaechi, charged the new Executives to always adhere to their constitution, as well as ensure they follow laid down rules for peace and stability of the community.
Contributing, the ASATU President, Mr Titus Akpudo, who represented Commissioner Nwabunwanne, PG Umuoji Town, Mr Sly Onyima, Mr Tony Okafor among others who also witnessed the election, harped on the need for them to embrace peace, as according to them, Governor Soludo sees it as his topmost priority the restoration of peace and stability to all warring Communities in the state.
Responding, the New President-General of Awgbu Progress Union, Hon. Akidi Emmanuel, and one of the aspirants in the 2021 Governorship election in Anambra State under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, Hon. ThankGod Ibeh, appreciated the efforts of the state government in ensuring that peace returns to the community.
They promised to abide by all the rules and regulations guiding the Town and prayed God to Bless everyone that contributed in making the occasion a success. .
The election proper and chanting of Solidarity songs amid Jubilation formed highpoints of the election.
