Members of the House of Representatives yesterday, questioned the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, on the whereabouts of the Chinese doctors who arrived the country weeks ago.

The lawmakers demanded the full details of the activities and whereabouts of the Chinese doctors, saying they were not satisfied with the Minister’s statement about the Chinese doctors not being guests of the Federal Ministry of Health but that of a Chinese firm in Abuja.

The lawmakers expressed their dissatisfaction with the comment following a motion of urgent public importance raised by Honourable Dachung Bagos.

In a separate motion, the lawmakers also resolved to investigate the status of medical and pharmaceutical research in the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria, and also expressed worry that Nigerian scientists and researchers have not been given the necessary support and funding for medical research.
