A rescued Chibok girl, 27-year-old Ihyi Abdul, has revealed she was married to eight men during her captivity by Boko Haram. Abdul, abducted in 2014, also has four children. Speaking at the Operation Hadin Kai Theater Command in Maiduguri, she shared her harrowing experience and mentioned she is currently three months pregnant.
Abdul’s rescue brings the total number of freed Chibok girls to 19. The military also handed over 330 rescued families of Boko Haram terrorists to the Borno State government for reintegration. The continued surrender of insurgents has been attributed to effective military strategies during the rainy season.
