Niger Commissioner of Information Alhaji Mohammed Sani has recalled his ordeal in the hands of kidnappers.
The commissioner who was abducted in the early hours of Monday regained his freedom Thursday.

Speaking with newsmen after being received by Niger Speaker Abdullahi Wuse and some members of the State Executive Council, disclosed his abductors tied his hands and legs for 48 hours without giving him any food or water, whilst he slept in the rains for some days before his abductors gave him trampoline for protection.

The Commissioner described his abduction as dehumanising, degrading and humiliating saying he was pushed to a limit he does not wish for anybody.
Noting he went through a dehumanizing trial in their hands, he added that it was not an experience that he will wish upon his greatest enemy. It was dehumanizing, humiliating and degrading.

Speaking further, Idris described his release as miraculous, stating that nobody paid any ransom, nor was he rescued, but he was just released by the free will of the abductors, after God touched their hearts.

The Commissioner, stating that he was proud that the government did not pay the ransom demanded by the bandit and he would have resigned if that happened, noted he was proud to be part of the Niger state government and praised them for having the strength of heart not to allow any state machinery intervene, as it was against their mandate.
