His Majesty Igwe Peter Anungwu on Saturday 10th September, 2022, during the Mbaukwu new yam festival, has offered royal blessings for the election bid of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Awka South 2 Constituency Barr. Ifedi Josiah, expressing confidence that the Business mogul will emerge victorious on the March 11, 2023 house of assembly polls.
The high profile annual event which took place at the Prestigious Akabueze palace saw His Majesty receive the homage of the people’s Democratic Party candidate, and other members of his Campaign Organization.
Igwe Anungwu, while thanking God for the life of Chief Ifedi, also made an undisclosed cash donation to his election bid.
While encouraging him to steadfast and committed in all his engagements, the community monarch also prayed for a peaceful environment before, during and after the election, affirming that the community will massively support his candidacy.
In his remarks, Chief Obidi Ebede stated that Ifedi has been an active community, constituency developer and an illustrious son of the community who loves to help his people as evidenced through his humanitarian gestures across community and Obizi in general over the years.
He therefore urged all community leaders, stakeholders, and indigenes of Obizi to unite and rally around Chief Ifedi as according to him, Chief Ifedi has a proven capacity to represent and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Responding, Chief ifedi thanked His Majesty for his prayers and support, assuring him that he would change the narratives of poor representation in Obizi, using the instruments of the legislature to address the plights and needs of his constituents if elected.
