Daughters (Umuada) of Akpo in Aguata Local Government Area have embarked on a 2-days fasting and prayers to tackle insecurity ravaging Nigeria.

According to a report, the women converged at Nkwo Akpo asking God to intervene on the security situation of the country, believing that it has defied human knowledge and wisdom.

The Chairperson of the Umuada, Mrs. Veronica Okechukwu while interacting with Information Officers shortly after the prayers said that they converged to bring God into security situation of Nigeria.

She said the leaders are doing the best they can, yet, their best have not been good enough to solving the problems instead they are increasing.

Mrs Veronica said they have prayed, believing that God has intervened and hoping the politicians ought to learn lessons from what is happening.

She cautioned against politicians giving young people guns again in the interest of winning elections because the ones they gave before now, they were unable to retrieve from them, which is largely the problem of insecurity today.

She noted that religion is about the worship of divinity or unseen powers in one’s own understanding of divine powers.

She also said that tolerance is requisite to accommodating these diverse understandings; shedding innocent blood in the name of religion is therefore barbaric.

According to report, she said that they have advised mothers to take the messages of self realization home; as their children should know from them that they have come into this world through God for a purpose.
