
The Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu has ordered immediate nationwide deployment of anti riot unit, the Police Mobile Force(PMF) to protect lives and property of all Nigerians and secure critical national infrastructure across the country.
In a statement by Force Headquarters Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, IGP Adamu has also ordered massive deployment of Police operatives to strengthen security around Correctional facilities nationwide.
IGP Adamu made these orders to curb the increasing attacks and malicious damage to public and private facilities by hoodlums as recently seen in some states, including the Federal Capital Territory.
In view of such attacks, the commissioners of police in the 36 states and the FCT are to pin point law breakers from protesters and arrest and prosecute such perpetrators .
Meanwhile, IGP Adamu stated that 12 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks and arson on Police stations in Edo state while give AK47 rifles earlier stolen the the vandalized Stations have also been recovered.
Adamu has also called on members of the public to avail police with useful information that can lead to the re-arrest of the feeling inmates unlawfully released from Correctional facilities.
