Install Your Electricity Transformer Now Or Risk Forfeiture – Anambra Govt .
Anambra State government says it finds it disappointing and regrettable that Electricity Transformers bought with tax payers’ money and given to communities by the previous administration to the improve their power supply are yet to be installed and utilized by those communities.
A release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Sir Paul Nwosu, noted that most of the Transformers have unfortunately been vandalized, abandoned and left to deteriorate and overgrown by weeds.
The release warned that Government is giving the beneficiary communities an ultimatum of 14 days to repair and install those Transformers, failing which the Ministry of Power and Water Resources will immediately take necessary steps to recover Transformers that are not functional and not utilized by the communities.
The release warned that this notice serves as a final notice.
The statement read:
“The government of Anambra State finds it disappointing and regrettable that Electricity Transformers bought with tax payers’ money and given to our communities by the previous administration to improve their power supply are yet to be installed and utilized by these communities.
“Most of these Transformers have unfortunately been vandalized, abandoned and left to deteriorate and overgrown by weeds.
“Government is giving the beneficiary communities an ultimatum of 14 days to repair and install these Transformers, failing which the Ministry of Power and Water Resources will immediately take necessary steps to recover Transformers that are not functional and not utilized by the communities.
“This serves as a final notice”, the statement Concluded.
