Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, has called on the international community to act decisively to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. His statement comes days after a 12-day conflict between Israel and Iran ended in a ceasefire on June 24.
Saar claimed Israel acted just in time to stop an imminent nuclear threat, adding that Iran remains the world’s most extreme regime. The war began on June 13 with Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, followed by U.S. involvement.
Though Israel claims to have thwarted Iran’s nuclear project, the actual impact remains uncertain. Iran has since rejected UN inspection requests and suspended cooperation with the nuclear watchdog.
