It Was a Black Saturday In Agulu As late Mrs. Onyinye Was Laid To Rest.

Tragedy struck on the 30th of April 2022 at about 2pm when unknown gunmen attacked the army check point in Agulu town hall where late Mrs Onyinye sustained injuries following a stray bullet that hit her. She was rushed to the hospital were she was confirmed dead by the doctor
She was laid to rest on Friday 6th May 2022.

During an interview with Kpakpando correspondent Hon Oliver Afamefuna ,the president general of Agulu Peoples Union (APU) who was present at the burial ceremony to commiserate with the family of the deceased, described the death of Onyinye as a painful loss following the wrong and inappropriate check point by the military.

Hon Oliver commended chief Daniel Mbanefo for his efforts towards saving her life which was to no avail. He also thanked the Agulu peoples union in general, and equally pleaded with the government to see the need for them to relocate the military base to the boundary not in the town where people do their business.

Speaking to kpakpando Hon Ebele Ejiofor, member representing Anaocha 1constituency who was there to commiserate with the family urged Agulu youths to maintain peace and in the town .

Sir Eric Mmaduagwu in his remark, said the military check point in front of Agulu town hall is uncalled for and should not be at the heart of Agulu and pleaded with the authorities to look into it to find a way to solve and remove the military base at least to the boundary of Nanka as Onyiye is the second person to loss her life at the same check point.

Many people who came to sympathize with the family were the former president general of Agulu peoples union Hon chief Andy Peoples Union, the Agulu youth leader Comrade Ejike okoye among others.

Mrs Nwadike Faithful Grace a family member of late Mrs Onyinye expressed their pain and bitterness at the loss and called on Anambra state and Federal Government to come to their aide ,to rescue and relocate the military check point to the boundaries , away from the busy areas in agulu.
