Katsina Gov. Leads Security Operatives To Raid Criminals’ Hideouts, Police Confirm Arrest Of Suspects

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, together with operatives of various security agencies in the State, have raided the hideouts of daredevil criminals in Katsina metropolis.
A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, to the Governor, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the governor personally led the security personnel to storm the criminals’ hideouts, on Tuesday, between 10 and 11:30 in the night.
The CPS said the hideouts raided by the Governor and the security operatives were at Sabuwar Unguwa, Sharar Pipe, Dan Hako, Filin Polo, Kofar Guga and Tudun Matawalle.
According to the statement, “The criminals, in recent months, have been terrorizing residents of the aforementioned areas and other parts of Katsina metropolis.
It added that, “The hooligans specialized in snatching phones and extortion of properties of residents in various parts of Katsina city”.
Speaking during the raid, Governor Dikko Radda, reiterated commitment towards ridding the State of criminal elements, and once again dished out commands to operatives of the police to deal ‘mercilessly’ with miscreants breaching peace and public order, across Katsina.
Following last night’s ‘clearance operation’ at the identified criminals’ abodes, Radda, summoned an emergency meeting with Security Chiefs in the State over the resurgence of crimes in some parts of Katsina.
He lamented his worry and displeasure over the acute security challenges bedeviling the State, urging the security chiefs to be more proactive in carrying out their statutory responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, PPRO ASP Abubakar Sadiq, in a chat with journalists in Katsina, confirmed that some suspects were arrested.
