Reports from some online news that alleged that former governor of Kano state , Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso collected 15,000 dollars, which is over Six million naira, from Governor Nyesom Wike for delegates has been refuted.
The refutal was contained in a press release that was signed by Kwankwaso’s Media and Publicity aide , Ibrahim Adamu where Kwankwaso said that the report was a spurious allegation and asked for a total disregard by teeming supporters and the general public.
The statement said that the malicious publication was deliberately concoted with the sole aim of defaming the good character, personality and reputation of the senator.
The statement also read that Senator Kwankwaso resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party to join the New Nigerian People Party and wondered how a presidential aspirant will entice an opposition party leader with money to use delegates from his own party.
To avert such from happening again, Kwankwaso said his lawyers will launch a defamation suit against the tabloid while the tabloid was also given 48 hours to retract the false news item and also issue an apology in three national dailies.
