Kwara State government has authorized the hiring of 2,600 more forest guards to boost security throughout the state.The additional staff will enhance the efforts of the 700 forest guards currently collaborating with security agencies to combat banditry in the Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts.
The Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, Akeweje Fafoluyi, who disclosed this in a statement, confirmed that incoming recruits would participate in rigorous training.
Mr. Fafoluyi stated that the 2,600 new forest guards would soon begin training through advanced military instruction, encompassing sophisticated weapons handling and modern strategies for neutralizing battlefield threats.
The Special Assistant noted that the initiative highlights the governor’s dedication to improved security infrastructure throughout the state to eliminate criminal elements to achieve lasting peace.
