The Lagos State Government has refuted claims linking it to the demolition of Peter Obi’s brother’s property in Ikeja, describing the allegations as baseless and politically charged. A formal investigation is underway.

The Lagos State Government has denied involvement in the demolition of a property reportedly owned by the brother of former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi.

In a statement today, the state’s Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, clarified that neither the Lagos State Building Control Agency nor any state entity carried out the act.

Omotoso said relevant authorities had been consulted and none admitted to such action. He dismissed Obi’s claims as unfounded and politically distracting, urging the public to disregard them.

To establish the facts, the government has launched an official investigation through appropriate channels.

The commissioner reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to legality, accountability, and the well-being of all residents.
