The process of the journey to the final resting place of the late former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Agunwa Anaekwe, officially commenced with a recent World Press Conference.
The Press Conference was jointly addressed by the National Burial Committee, comprising of leadership of the House of Representatives, the Senate, family members, selected friends and close associates of the deceased, at the Senate Building of the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
In his Speech, Distinguished Senator Osita Izunaso, Chairman, Senate Committee on Capital Market and Institutions, who is the Chairman, Late Chief Agunwa Anaekwe Burial Committee, after observing a minute silence, eulogised the late parliamentarian.
He stated that the passing of Chief Aniekwe at the “not-too-old” age of 69, came as a rude shock; at a critical time when his family, people of the Southeast, and Nigeria in general, needed him most, especially from the vast lessons of his life’s trajectory and huge wealth of experience in Nigeria’s political sphere.
Distinguished Sen. Izunaso, called on to take solace in the predestined call and ultimate will of the Almighty God.

The Late Rt. Hon. Chief Agunwa Anaekwe, was the Speaker, House of Representatives, 3rd National Assembly 1992-1993.
