The remains of late Mrs Roseline Nwannedie Nwafor Ajaka (Née Osili) have been committed to Mother Earth at her compound in Mbaukwu; Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Delivering a sermon during the burial; Fr. Bonaventure Nwankisi of SS Peter and Paul, Nise admonished the Christians to live a life worthy of emulation. He urged Christians to always be prepared because death is a debt everyone must pay and no one knows when it will come. He thanked God for sparing the life of mama till the ripe age of one hundred and twelve years. Adding that she was an epitome of love and encouragement to everyone around her.
The first catholic indigenous priest in Mbaukwu, Monsignor Raphael Ebedeagu described the deceased as a virtuous woman. He expressed his condolences to mama’s family and also urged them to follow the footsteps she left behind.
Monsignor noted that the deceased has lent some colour to history and has left her giant footprints on the sand of Agulu land and Mbaukwu land.
In a tribute; mama’s son; Hon. Emeka Nwafor Ajaka and Osita Nwafor Ajaka described his late mum as an industrious woman, ever supportive and accommodating. He thanked God for the life well spent. He prayed that the legacy she left behind will never be in vain.
In their separate interviews, mama’s daughters: Mrs Obianuju Uzochukwu, Mrs Caroline Nzekwe, Mrs Rita Okafor described their late mum as “Nneora”, peaceful mother and a patient mum who took care of everyone in the family. They prayed God to rest her soul.
Some of the dignitaries that came to pay their last respects to the deceased are: HRH igwe P.N Anugwu; Mbaukwu tradition ruler, Hon. Chuma Okafor( Member representing Awka South 2, Monsignor Raphael Ebedeagu, Fr. Bonaventure Nwankisi, among others.
