Late Ozor James Uwakwe Okeke laid to rest amidst encomiums

Late socialite and business man, Ozor Uwakwe has been laid to rest amidst encomiums and eulogies.

The ceremony, which took place on the 29th of September 2020, saw family, relatives, Ndi Ogo, friends and well wishers present to pay their last respect.

Late Ozor Uwakwe was born in 1952 to Late Mazi Okereke Akubuisi and Late Nwago Okeke Ikpo Village Agbana Quarters Umuawulu town in Awka South, Anambra State. Ozor James was there after baptized into the catholic faith.

He was hardworking and dedicated and his humility and willingness to serve saw him rise to the position of C.Y.O.N Leader and president of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Umuawulu; a position he held for over 9 years. He was also a scout leader as a General Commander in old Njikoka Division (which comprises the present day Awka North and South, Dunukofia, Anaocha and Njikoka).
During his days, he was well known in carpentry work and as a dealer in liquor, especially Palm wine.
Ozo got married to his beautiful wife Mrs Regina Okeke and the union was blessed with 9 children (a boy and 8 girls).
In 2010 he was titled; “Ozor Agbalusiangene”.

The son of the deceased, Bishop Chinedu Okeke, expressed his gratitude to the will of God for a life well spent, expressing how proud he was of having him as a father.
He added that the Late James Uwakwe lived a life worthy of emulation and his simplicity, humility and willingness to make everyone around him happy earned him the name “Uwa for boys”. He was also known as “Uwa simplicity”.
He further described him as an icon for his unprecedented achievements in all ramifications.

High profile dignitaries were on ground to pay their last respects, some of whom included; His Royal Majesty, Igwe Dr. Joel Mmaduadichie Egwuonwu FIAMN, JP, Eze Udo II Umuawulu; Mr Sunday Anaebenem, Vice President General Umuawulu Progressive Union; High Chief Sunday Emeka Aniegbunam (Ozo Idejuogwugwu, Odenigbo Umuawulu); High Chief Nze Okechukwu Ekweozor (Nze Onwa Puta Ife Adi na Umuawulul), Chief Hon. Martins Ekweozo, (Eselu Obizi) and many others from different part of the country.
