The Mayor of Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon. Romanus Ibekwe, has commissioned newly constructed open stalls at Nkwọ Market, Adazi-Enu, describing the project as another practical demonstration of his administration’s commitment to transforming its development vision into tangible benefits for the people.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony on Thursday, August 27, 2026, Mayor Ibekwe said the new stalls would provide additional trading spaces for local traders and help strengthen commercial activities in Adazi-Enu and the wider community. He noted that the project, alongside other completed and ongoing interventions across Anaocha, reflects his administration’s determination to translate promises and development plans into projects that directly improve the lives of residents.
“These and similar projects are tangible expressions of the Greater Anaocha Vision; turning ideas into projects and projects into real benefits for our people,” he said.

The President-General of Adazi-Enu, Sir Chigozie Ejidike, commended Mayor Ibekwe for fulfilling his promises to the community and prioritising infrastructure that addresses the needs of the people. He described the new stalls as a welcome development that would improve the trading environment and support the economic activities of residents.
In the same vein, Onowu Sunday Ezeobikwelu, Onwu Adazi-Enu, praised the Mayor for his commitment to delivering people-oriented projects, noting that the commissioning was further evidence that promises made to the community were being translated into action.
The women and traders at the market expressed delight over the development, describing the new stalls as a significant improvement that would provide more conducive spaces for trading and enhance the overall appearance and functionality of the market. They said the additional facilities would create opportunities for more traders while contributing to increased commercial activities within the community.
The project is therefore expected to support local economic growth while complementing the broader infrastructural development taking place across Anaocha Local Government Area.
In his vote of thanks, Sir Theophile Nnoli appreciated Mayor Ibekwe and his entourage for coming to commission the project and for their continued commitment to the development of Adazi-Enu. He expressed optimism that the facility would serve its intended purpose and provide lasting benefits to traders and the wider community.
The commissioning further reinforces the administration’s “Greater Anaocha” development agenda, as Mayor Ibekwe continues to emphasise projects designed to deliver measurable infrastructural and socio-economic benefits to communities across the local government.
