Members of Akabor Village, Akabor Ome Nze today Friday January 21st, led by their Chairman , Amb. Odira Ezeh, Onowu Dike Udo, has visited the scene of fire disaster that struck the family of Mr. Bartholomew Nwosi of Umuodum Village, both in Mbaukwu, Awka South Council Area of Anambra state.
The visit which was primarily to commiserate with the family over the fire incident, ascertain the extent of damage and also make cash donations to enable the victim effect some reconstruction job on the razed house, pulled the likes of Chief Ozoemena Okafor, MD/CEO of Sam Rosy Hotel, who also doubles as the Chairman Umuodum Village , Hon. Felix Odum
a former Councillor Mbaukwu ward, Ichie Ikechukwu Anoka of MPU Benue branch, members of executive of the two Villages.
Akabor ome Nze Village, through their Chairman, Amb. Odira Ezeh, bemoaned the huge economic turmoil the incident the inferno has plunged the family into, but thanked God no life was lost.
According to Amb. Odira, the visit was part of the resolve to identify with every village access both in good and bad situations, ascertain the level of damage caused by the fire outbreak and as well to commiserate with the victims to see a way, Ndi Akabor will come to their rescue to place shelter over their head.
While handing over an undisclosed amount of money to the family, through Chief Anoka and Village Chairman Amb. Odira Ezeh , for the Trust-fund initiated to provide financial succour to the family, he commended the leadership of Ogba for coming up with such arrangements that will expedite action towards providing shelter for the victims.
On his part, Chief Ozoemena Okafor described the incident as very unfortunate incident, adding that with the extent of havoc wreaked by the fire, it is obvious that the family has lost everything .
He also commiserated sincerely with them over the tragedy and encourage them not to lose hope as better days are still ahead.
He noted that these kinds of things were unforeseen and will be equally good that our people should always take precautionary measures to prevent our family houses from this kind of incident adding that if peradventure, it happens, that it is usually such Philantropic packages that can assist the victim to normal life.
In a remark on behalf of the of the Victims, Hon Felix Odum, expressed appreciation to Akabor ome Nze for coming to their aid.
In his words, I commend our brothers for identifying with us in this period of misfortune. We are also appreciative of the financial support. What we promise is that all the monies received will be judiciously spent to ameliorate the sufferings the victims are going through.
