Report has it that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) component of Operation Hadin Kai has killed many fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a fresh airstrike in Borno.
According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the insurgents were killed in an operation in the Andakar, Musari and Klabariya areas of Marte LGA of the state on Monday.
It was reported that the attack was conducted by the troops following intelligence that the insurgents who fled NAF’s airstrikes in Jubularam, Kwalaram and Sabon Tumbu were converging for a meeting in Marte.
The sources said that the attack was preceded by a series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions which confirmed the heavy presence of terrorists spread across the settlements.
