The husband of Nollywood actress and lawmaker, Prince Henry Okojie, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt at his residence on Friday, just a day before the Edo State gubernatorial election.
Okojie, who also serves as the Edo Central Coordinator for the APC Governorship Campaign, was saved by quick intervention from his police detail.
According to reports from his media aide, Michael Ihaza, four armed men posing as police officers entered Okojie’s compound in a Lexus SUV with Rivers State plates. The attackers were apprehended by security personnel, with two suspects already in custody.
The incident has sparked condemnation from Okojie’s supporters, who are urging political rivals to avoid violent tactics during the election. Authorities are investigating the incident.
